An Urban Park - community resource, learn & share hub, civic participation
For Creative - art oriented heads, physical & digital based creations
Visionaries & Citizens - interactions between the new and old, no age restrictions
Bangalore - has combined its rich cultural heritage with its technological advancement
Project Rationale & Background
This urban park looks forward to infuse both art and activism in the society by understanding and sharing it. Activist art is about empowering individuals and communities and is generally situated in the public arena with artists working closely with a community to generate the art. The city of Bangalore has beautifully combined its rich cultural heritage with its technological and industrial accomplishments. If on one side, the city is acquiring the status of the IT Capital, on the other, there is a revival of age-old traditional art forms.

Touchstone
The aim is to construct a touchstone for the thesis project, something abstract to represent its theme, something that shows what it wants to be. With regard in developing the narrative there is a liberty of any technique - written/ prose/play, story board, folk, art/craft, performing art etc. From the narrative one is supposed to derive the touch stone which is like an installation art - an idea for the thesis project.
This wire art is a metaphor for culture and activities and spaces in the project:
1 community expression and its intersection
2 artist driven practices
3 participatory spaces
4 a transparent between artists and activists

But as elsewhere, the educational potential of Art & Activism largely remains untapped.
2. Serving as a Public Forum
The second derivative is that of the park serving as a forum for ANALYSIS, DEBATE, CRITICISM & COMMENT. This serves as an open, critical and democratic forum without any age restriction. This will not only initiate the public to open up to each others’ views; but also facilitate the process of developing an authentically generated public opinion. This park holds powerful capacities in terms of calling mass gatherings, public voicings etc. This derivative of the functions of the press, thus, holds tremendous scope of an architectural expression. From small community organizations to International NGO’s, visionary activists are looking to broaden their base of appeal. This is the ‘avant-garde’ of activism today.
3. Public Building Agenda
This derivative emphasizes on public participatory factor of activism. Investigative and analytic activism can bring a significant issue to the fore and initiate or contribute to the building of a worthwhile public agenda. With a powerful social reach on one hand, and a constructive initiative on the other, this derivative can be explored to bring about reforms in the society.
